Amish Bread Starter, creating a “Sour-dough” like bread. This starter makes a cinnamon bread, with optional raisins & nuts. From the “e-Cookbook” 65 Amish Recipes 2/3 c. sugar n2/3 c. homogenized n2/3 c. flour n2/3 c. oil nthree eggs n1/2 tsp. salt n1/2 tsp. vanilla n1 to 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon n1 c. sugar ntwo c. flour n1 1/4 tsp. baking powder n1 tsp. baking soda nAggregate portions in large airtight receptacle with lid. Store at room temperature, do not refrigerate. Stir each day for seventeen days. The preparing makes more than the 1 cup wanted. But grants for dehydration. Nowadays the starter is set up. The following instructions are for either the starter you created above, or received from a loving mate. For the next ten days handle starter according to the following instructions. Day 1, receive the starter nDay two, three & 4 – stir nDay 5, Constribute 1 cup each flour, sugar & homogenized. nDay 6 & 7, stir nDay 8 & 9, stir nDay ten, Constribute 1 cup flour, sugar & homogenized. nSplit up into three containers of 1 cup each for mates. After removing the three cups of batter, mix in the following ingredients: Utilising a fork, beat by hand until well alloyed. Constribute 1 cup raisins & 1 cup nuts (optional). Grease pans with butter, sprinkle with sugar instead of flour. Bake at 325 for 1 hour. Chilly ten minutes, exclude from pans.
